Light yellow transparent oily liquid at room temperature, melting point 13.4ºC, specific gravity 0.8905, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, gaso-line and other organic solvents, hydrogenated into stearic acid, with the general chemical properties of organic carboxylic acid and unsaturated double bond chemical properties.

Plant oleic acid has a wide range of uses: it can be used in textile, printing and dyeing, daily chemical industry; To make dimeric acid and polyamide for ink, resin and coating industry; Oleamide or oleic acid amide used in plastics industry, defilm agent; Surfactant; In the metal processing industry can be used for metal rolling oil; It can be used as mineral flotation additive in mining industry.
