Cinnamaldehyde is commonly referred to as cinnamaldehyde and is naturally found in essential oils such as Sri Lankan cinnamon oil, cinnamon oil, musk oil, hyacin oil and rose oil. The cinnamaldehyde has two isomers, cis and trans. Commercially available cinnamaldehyde, whether natural or synthetic, is a trans-form.

Cinnamon Bark has been used throughout history, and across most cultures, as a culinary spice, for herbal bath decoctions and as a food remedy to maintain healthy blood sugar balance.
